summer book club

READING | CREATIVE MINDS | FAMILY FUN | LEARNING

One of my (and Mark's) greatest accomplishments as parents is instilling in our children the joy and importance of reading. We read every single day, without any exceptions, in print and online, and these are usually some of the most pleasant moments of the day. What is truly wonderful is that the boys are active readers, literally and figuratively. They may not always sit still but they eagerly ask questions and comment on the content of the books we read. And they tend to request "just one more story," even if they are very tired at bedtime.
I love reading with Dominik & Filip, and I am VERY excited to have joined 20+ amazing bloggers in hosting the 2012 Summer Virtual Book Club for Kids. Each month we will study a different children's author, and we will share a variety of books and related activities.

June with Mo Willems

In June, we are featuring Mo Willems, one of the boys' favorite authors. I am so thrilled! Everyone is welcome to join in the fun! To participate, please follow four simple steps:

1. Choose a book by Mo Willems and read it with your child(ren).
2. Design and engage your child(ren) in an activity inspired by the book. It can be, but does not have to be, a craft or a cooking project.
3. Come back on Monday, June 18, 2012 to share which book you read and what activities you did, and to see what others have done. For those of you who blog, a 'linky' will be set up. This is going to be one big & insipring Mo Willems Blog Hop! I can feel it!
4. Have a ton of fun!

Happy reading and creating!
